Complete the Associate Success Program — the ASP
Self-paced and online, on your own phone if that is what you have. It carries one safeguarding module and a readiness questionnaire that cannot be failed. The moment the platform certifies it, you are an associate.

You are an associate
You take the Associate’s Pledge and receive the Pledge Pin, the first insignia of the movement. Within thirty days you are introduced to your Faculty Advisor and to a Centre Mentor. You do not wait for anyone’s approval to begin learning and serving.

The Nurture Centre Management Course — the NCM — if you will serve at a centre
Eight modules, eight to ten hours. It is what lets you teach at your club’s Nurture Centre, and most people take it alongside the first course. It is required before you serve at a centre, and not before you become an associate.
Minimum age: eighteen. That is express and admits of no exception. A Nurture Centre is a room with children in it, and the movement does not blur the line between the adults and the children. Under-eighteens take part only as children of a centre.
How the two courses work, and why you should not be nervous
Both run on a mastery model. The standard is 70%. Retakes are unlimited. There is no ranking against anyone else, and no time bar — you may take a week or six months, and neither counts against you.
The purpose is not to sort people. It is to make sure that every associate who walks into a room of children knows what they are doing and what they are responsible for.
Inside the ASP you will meet a readiness questionnaire about the five dimensions. It cannot be failed, and nothing turns on it. It exists so that a record is kept of where you started, and so that later you can see how far you came.
Completion is certified by the platform, and that certification is authoritative at once. Integrity is protected by sample audit, not by making you sit an examination hall.

Association never lapses
Once you are an associate, you stay one. There is nothing to renew and nothing to reapply for. Thirty minutes of learning a day and two hours of service a week are standards of progression, not conditions of belonging. Fall short and your progression simply pauses — then resumes from exactly where you left it.
There is no fee, ever
Not to apply, not to join, not to take the courses, not to stay. The membership fee is nil by rule and permanently so. The one carve-out is that celebrations are self-paid: if you choose to attend one, you pay for your own seat.
Nothing earned is ever revoked
Membership is irrevocable. Points, Levels, Stars and Honours are yours permanently. What may be withdrawn is access — to contact with children, to office, to earn opportunities and partner privileges — and never membership, and never anything you have earned.
The five clubs — where you will belong
Empowerment Club — undergraduate students. The heart of the movement today.
Community Club — postgraduates and graduates, the years between campus and career.
Professionals Club — all employed individuals. An associate over thirty who is not a leader, an entrepreneur or a teacher belongs here.
Leadership Club — leaders and entrepreneurs.

What is actually asked of you once you are in
Learn. Thirty minutes a day, self-paced and online, across the five dimensions and the four competencies. One validated hour is one point.
Serve. Two hours a week, and your standing service has a name and an address: the Nurture Centre of your club, where you teach children of classes 6 to 10, free, on weekday evenings.
Turn up for your club. A weekly meeting in term-time — fellowship, the news of the centre, and a learning slot taken by a speaker or by a teach-back of what associates have learned online.
You will never be sent into a class unprepared. Every module comes with a trainer guide: the objective, the materials, the run-sheet with timings, the activity, and what to do if the class is far larger or far smaller than expected.
A session never runs without two named adults, one of them the Centre Mentor or their named deputy. Nobody has contact with a child until their screening file is complete, and nobody is ever alone with a child before their Police Clearance Certificate has issued. How children are kept safe

We ask for very little because very little is required. Nothing here is scored, and nothing you write decides whether you are admitted.
