At a Nurture Centre
Take a dimension evening or a competency evening — a twenty-five minute slot in the arc of a weekday session, for children of classes 6 to 10. You come with a trainer guide, not with an empty room.
A centre is not a tuition centre. It makes Science, Mathematics and English experiential; it does not repeat the school day. This is child-facing work and is screened.
With a club
Take the learning slot at a club’s weekly meeting as an invited speaker. An hour of what your working life has actually taught you is worth a term of theory to a room of twenty-five people.
Doctors, lawyers, founders, civil servants, artists, soldiers, accountants — a club will invite you gladly.
On a project
Each month a centre runs one community initiative mapped to a UN Sustainable Development Goal, with the children, the associates, the families and the neighbourhood taking part. Projects need hands, logistics and people who can organise.
Where children take part, this is child-facing work and is screened.
On content and design
Modules, trainer guides, translation into Indian languages, illustration, layout, photography, film, the website. Much of this can be done at midnight from another city, and it is genuinely short-handed.
No screening is required for work that never brings you into contact with a child.
At the Convention
The Rebuild India National Convention is the one national gathering of the movement, where clubs, associates and centres are recognised and rewarded. It needs guest management, stage and floor operations, documentation and hospitality.
The thing only you can do
If you have a skill this page has not thought of, say so on the form. The movement is young and short of nearly everything; a specific offer is rarely refused.

Everything here is designed backwards from a single fact: a Nurture Centre is a room with children in it, and the trust of their parents is the movement’s most valuable possession.

We match you to a defined unit of work
Not “help out sometimes”. A named piece of work, with a person responsible for it, a start, and a finish. You will know what success looks like before you begin.

If you will work with children, you are screened first
Every adult who comes near a child at an ARISE centre — associate, volunteer, partner’s volunteer, guest or vendor — completes a screening file and applies for a Police Clearance Certificate. Nobody has any contact with a child until the screening file is complete. Until the certificate has issued you are never alone with a child and never unsupervised, and supervised work may begin only once the certificate has been applied for and the receipt is on file. This rule admits of no exception, for anyone, at any level.

You begin, and you are never on your own
Two named adults are present at every session, one of them the Centre Mentor or their named deputy — from fifteen minutes before the session to fifteen minutes after. If the two adults are not there, the session does not run. You are briefed, you have a trainer guide, and you have a person to report to on the day.
If a child ever discloses something to you, or you form a suspicion, you report it within twenty-four hours to the Centre Mentor — whatever anyone else may or may not have done. That duty is personal to you and nothing overrides it. You will be trained in exactly how to do it before you start.
What the screening actually involves, and who holds it
The screening file is completed once and kept centrally by the Rebuild India Foundation. It is not held by a club, and no club may waive any part of it.
Alongside the file you apply for a Police Clearance Certificate. The receipt goes on file immediately; the certificate follows in its own time. Between those two moments you may do supervised work — in the room, with the two named adults, and never alone with a child.
Every centre has a Centre Mentor: a screened safeguarding professional appointed by the Foundation, who is not an associate, and who is the centre’s Youth Protection Officer. They sign each session on the day. A centre does not open until its safeguarding certification is signed and its campus annexure is complete.
The same standard applies to the volunteers of a Serve Partner — Rotary, Lions or any other organisation. Screened, trained and bound exactly as anyone else, without exception.
