ARISE · The Movement
Why ARISE exists.
Every nation that attained greatness did so because ordinary people chose to grow, to give, and to build together. India’s moment is here, and its promise has never been larger. ARISE exists so we can work to keep that promise — moving from the person to the nation.
Demography, Not just geography.
Policies, processes and systems are built by people and for people. The development of the nation is limited by the development of its people. The citizens’ Knowledge (what they know), Skills (what they can do), Network (who they will stand beside), and Wealth (what they are able to earn) determines the possibilities of growth for the nation.
The cooperative and collaborative spirit is what becomes the machinery that transforms an ordinary willing person into an extraordinary nation centric person who realises that in the collective welfare of his community lies his welfare. That is the beginning of national development.
ARISE is that machinery.
Vyaktinirmaan se Rashtranirmaan — the building of individuals is the building of the nation.
The Ecosystem of Progress.
The individual’s growth is the nation’s foundation for growth. What a person builds in themselves, a nation inherits. The four-way growth of an individual becomes the four-way progress of the country — not by metaphor, but by arithmetic.
How the four map, one to one
Knowledge becomes Education. A person who learns deliberately, and then teaches what they have learned to a child in their own neighbourhood, is a national education system operating at the smallest possible scale — and the most reliable one.
Skills become Competence. Knowledge that has never been used for anyone else is not yet skill. Service is where it hardens. A country full of people who have actually done things is a competent country.
Network becomes Cooperation. A nation is not held together by its institutions but by the number of people in it who trust one another enough to build something jointly. Networks are that trust, counted.
Wealth becomes Economy. Not wealth extracted, but wealth created — by people who were given real opportunity in proportion to what they had actually become.
Individual Progress
The five dimensions, the four competencies, and the four doors of Learn, Serve, Connect and Earn — how a person is actually formed here.
The formation, in full Rashtra-nirmaanNational Progress
The home and the heart — Club forms nation-builders and a Nurture Centre carries their work into a neighbourhood.
How the nation risesA home, and a heart.
At the grassroots, ARISE is two rooms and a connected rhythm.
The club
The association of people who meet, learn, serve, celebrate and grow together as one happy trustworthy family. This is the place which develops leaders who serve the communities through the Nurture Centres. Mentors and advisors ensure compliance to policies and the club’s own leadership drives its activities.
The five clubs
Empowerment — Campus specific clubs for undergraduate students.
Community — postgraduates and graduates, young adults till age 30.
Professionals — all employed individuals of any sector.
Leadership — leaders and entrepreneurs.
RITE — Rebuild India Teaching Excellence, for teachers.
Twenty-five associates constitute a club. Fifty is the target, and more is welcome.
The Nurture Centre
Set up and managed by clubs. Every club operates at least one Nurture Centre. A free community learning centre for children of classes 6 to 10. Classes happen five weekday evenings, taught by the club’s own associates, guided by centre mentors. This is the place where community development is facilitated through the participation of its own members.
Life in the Centre
Personal Excellence: One dimension per day for 25 min each (Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Social, Spiritual)
Scholastic Excellence: 60 min per day. Delivering Science, Maths and English experientially.
Professional Excellence: One competence per day – Mon to Thu, 25 min each (Policy, Economy, Leadership, Entrepreneurship)
Talent Celebration: 25 min of celebration of children’s talents on Fridays
Community Service: 150 min of community service – one Sunday a month – Associates, children, volunteers and parents of the children participate. Service is aligned to UN SDGs.
Associates are the drivers of the mission. The children and families of the centres are its collaborators. Nobody is a beneficiary, everybody is a partner in the National Development Mission.
The People’s Mission
What a movement becomes is determined by the principles that it stands for and the rules that it complies with. With the intention being national development through individual development, the movement is designed to include everybody from the one at the last step of the social ladder to the most powerful.
Zero Fee Rule
Associates, students and the communities served do not pay any fee. Partners are not bound by any commercial terms (Earn, campus, centre, privilege, learn and serve partners). Mentors and volunteers take up various roles and responsibilities as per their convenience and are not paid any fee for their mentorship and time.
Permanent association
Once you are an associate, you stay one forever. Association is forever, however progress is linked to learning and service. Belonging is permanent, progress is by commitment.
Honours and rewards remain
Levels, Stars and Honours, once earned, are yours. Membership itself cannot be taken away. Only access can be withdrawn in cases of anti-system activities — and even then, learning continues.
Democratic Opportunities
Guidelines for achieving levels, stars, honours are transparent and applicable to all associates with no exception. Leadership is by qualification and positions of power are by democratic elections. This allows every associate to work through the ladder of success within the system irrespective of their background or privileges.
Money handling accountability
A club manages only approved and allocated funds. Every rupee raised is with Rebuild India Foundation which sanctions budgets and allocates funds for club projects. Finances managed with absolute accountability and is always open for scrutiny by the advisory board of the foundation.
Children first principle
Every session at the centre is managed by trained associates. Centre mentors ensure safety, security and welfare of every child that comes to the centre. Growth and development needs to happen in safe and happy environments and ARISE ensures that. Learning outcomes are defined and children are assessed for improvement with timely course correction employed for better outcomes.
Education Centric National Development
NIS — Noble International School, the Zero cost education school of the Rebuild India Foundation. It is the cradle of implementation of the unique SIRI model of national development. SIRI (Social Innovation to Rebuild India) focuses on:
- Multi-dimensional development of children.
- Financial stability for families.
- Cooperative entrepreneurship development.
- Family led community development.
What ARISE does is to bring in the SIRI model to the community centres and scale the transformation at the grassroots: through clubs on campuses, and Nurture Centres in neighbourhoods. Individuals, institutions, corporates, policy makers, philanthropists, donors are all warmly invited to witness the working model in action.
Onward and forward, one club & one centre at a time
ARISE is moving onward and forward, setting up one club and one centre at a time, in Bengaluru. Colleges, partners and associates are joining hands with the mission and are strengthening the movement towards citizen led cooperative national development.
Colleges are the current focus. College campuses host the ARISE Empowerment clubs. Students join as associates and clubs become operational within 6 to 8 weeks. This is an ongoing process with more and more colleges hosting clubs and clubs starting Nurture Centres. A celebration of all work done by the clubs and centres is done in the Rebuild India National Convention on 12th January. The convention is where work done is celebrated and the conviction to do more is reinforced.

Now · rolling
Founding, continuously
Colleges host the clubs, earn partners provide opportunities, privilege partners provide advantages in services and products and associates learn and serve the community. The entire ecosystem is designed to drive the grassroots cooperative development by connecting every stakeholder to make the communities more self-reliant, resilient and prosperous.

As each club stands
The first Nurture Centres open
Every club sets up and operates a Nurture Centre. Every associate completes a ‘Nurture centre management course’ before taking classes at the centre. A designated mentor functions as a child protection officer. Learning, celebrations and service are managed professionally to make transformative development truly equitable.

Every club has its own leadership – a board of directors. The period of leadership of the board is 365 days – 1st July to 30th June.
